If you檙e a hallah baker, like I am, you know that all your measuring, kneading, and hours of checking on rising dough are totally worth it when, after the hamotzi at the Shabbat table, your family and friends let out a collective 渁aah.� When that fluffy, sweet piece of bread melts in their mouths, they know it really shabbes.

God-naming

淎nd God spoke to Moshe, and [God] said to him: I am YHVH. I appeared to Avraham, to Yitzhak, and to Ya檃kov as El Shaddai, but by my name YHVH I was not known to them� (Exodus 6:2�3).

When God shifts from using the ancient El Shaddai (usually translated as 淕od Almighty�) to YHVH, meaning, 淚 will be what I will be,� the divine-human relationship becomes more intimate.
